At the heart of Investors in People is The Standard which continues to deliver real business benefits. It has 39 outcome-based evidence requirements which make up the plan, do, review cycle. This allows you to build up a complete picture of how your business is managing its people and where it can make improvements. Your organisation will need to meet these 39 evidence requirements to be recognised as an Investor in People and to be able to display the laurel logo and plaque.

The Investors in People framework has been reviewed regularly to ensure that it remains relevant, accessible to all, and at the forefront of good practice. In May 2009, following extensive consultation with our customers, we launched a new approach to working with the framework. It is focused on identifying your organisations’ priorities and applying the framework towards meeting your specific objectives. With this new, choice-based approach, your needs become the focus of everything we do, making the whole experience more relevant and meaningful to your organisation.
